Newsletter 1 – February 2010
Since 5 years now: enjoying and learning mountain gliding in the very beatiful French Alps adapted to the level and to fulfil the individual need of the customers was and is the guideline of AlpineGlidingService Martin Kroke Gap Tallard. Safety, efficiency of labor and fun are in the foreground and define the activitie. Another important part is aerobatic flying: practce and revise manoevres for licenced pilots and tourist flights - a special experience for the guest and a adapted possibility to impart fun and faszination and to produce a positive image on our sport. In this spirit you can also understand the aerobatic video, special stuff like "wingsuit versus glider" and the nice fotos we made together with Claus-Dieter Zink. The offer of accomodation and growing number of glider for charter (www.antares-charter, www.taurus-charter.de, Ventus 2cM) makes it a complete servive-package.
Come to the "AERO Friedrichshafen" from 8th till 11th Apri 2010 and meet me at my stand 116 in hall B2 - you can make reservation for flying and accommodation for the new season in Gap!l!
Because of too much accidents during the last season in south France there was built a team to work out new ruels for safety. The results are: Flarm and warning colours as mandatory equipment from 01.01.2010.

From pilots for pilots: a German glider pilot has built a very nice new wooden chalet at beautiful Lac de Pelleautier and offers it to rent to other pilots. For more details, photos and prices click on the "holiday home" page

Modern Times - something exceptional will happen soon in Gap: Two of the most modern glider will be available, a ANTARES 20m self launch with electric motor for rent (www.antares-charter.de) and the first ARCUS E in August 2010 for mountain gliding familiarizattion! Later it will be also possible to rent the Arcus E.

Since a short time there is a new charter offer: a microlight self launch glider Tarus based on Stillberghof airfield in south germany. You can rent it there and come to Gap and we do mountain familiarizatio sitting side by side. An applicable offer for pilots with mocrolight license who wants to learn mountain gliding.
I am very happy about Claus-Dieter Zink put 4 photos in his calendar 2010 he took during we flew together. Mainly the one where you can see the Salto upside down in front of the steep rocks of west side of Pic de Bure! After a lot of try and error we worked out a technique to be very close after I turned to upside down; at the end we were lucky about having a nice autmn day with nice weather to get the shoot! You can also find one photo with the Twin Acro and the DG 505 we took during mountain flying familiarization. www.fotokalender-segelfliegen.de

During
the season 2010 we can organize flights with a micro light motor glider Lambada. It is a very
good training for pilots who never flew in the mountains to do approaches to
the out landing fields from the catalogue, land on other airfields and also use
it for distance flights if there are no soaring weather conditions

|
|
Maybe we can use a Twin 3 SL during the season 2010, in August there will be the ARCUS E and for sure there is the Twin 2 Acro available from the Aero Club Alpin

„Wingsuit
versus Glider“ or the game with the performance

Flying together Wingsuit –
Salto! We
spend one week to try what is possible in the air and to get a maximum of nice
images for Red Bull and Salomon. The project is located at Gap-Tallard with
nice meteorological conditions and very good service for skydivers and glider
pilots. The idea was born regarding wingsuit-flights, I mean really “flights”.
If you see those flights from the ground, you can see a gliding-angel, performance
2,5!
So is it possible to fly together with this simple human glider and a real
glider?!
|

|
|
First
experiments have already been done in summer of 2005. Martin Kroke takes off with
his Salto by air-tow and climbs to the maximum altitude in thermals. Loic Jean-Albert jumps out of the
Pilatus Porter after taking position about 200 meters vertically
over the Salto. Loic tries to come close to the glider witch fly with airbrakes
and a small speed break parachute (drop). First experiences shows that the size of the small
parachute is the most important. The first used drop is too small, the glider
accelerates too much with the same descending angle as the wingsuit; the
original parachute from the salto works also bad: he turns too much with the
higher speed.
More
experiments have been done one year later with better conditions: Loic got money
from his sponsor Red Bull. We towed the Salto up to 4000 meters over the
ground and Loic jumps out of the Pilatus like
usual so we have more time to fly together. With the experience of last year we
found the right size of the parachute soon. Flying together works very well now
and Loic can play with his position to the glider like you can see in the video.
